Affordable wedding locations in Seattle

The Pacific Northwest boasts some of the nation’s most gorgeous scenery, making it a great spot for those couples hosting an outdoor wedding.  Whether you’re a local who just needs to be pointed in the right direction, or an out of town-er looking to make the PNW the spot for your destination wedding, we at South Sound Weddings have an extensive knowledge of the local scene and can help point you in the right direction for a spot that is perfectly “you.”

Today’s focus is on the greater Seattle area, a city that has no shortage of amazing locations for an outdoor ceremony.  And even better – many of our favorites are relatively inexpensive or even free.  So why not skip the hefty down payment and 12 month advance notice and consider some of our favorite spots for your sunny, summer outdoor wedding.

If that urban skyline is what speaks to you, try Seattle’s Kerry Park or Alki Beach. Both locations boast fantastic views of the city and there’s even a “bathhouse” available to rent at Alki if you need some indoor space.  Head to the city’s parks and recreation website to obtain a permit and reserve your outdoor site, then enjoy your million dollar view for a minimal fee.

For a more unique urban vibe consider the historic Gas Works Park, a gas plant turned green space that Seattleites just love. Or for a landmark destination that is quintessentially Seattle, how about saying I do next to the iconic Fremont Troll?

Point Defiance Park sprawls over 700 acres on the tip of the peninsula in Tacoma, just south of Seattle, and offers a wide variety of locations for a beautiful wedding.  An intimate, oceanfront ceremony could be held on a secluded section of shoreline with a view of Vashon Island. Or for a larger gathering and easy access, consider the popular Owens Beach.  If you’re searching for a lush green floral backdrop, choose from one of the many garden areas.  Options are as varied as a lawn or gazebo setting in the Rose Garden to the captivating eastern architecture of the Japanese Gardens. For a more forested and historic setting you could also consider the nearby Meadow at Fort Nisqually.

This is just a small sampling of what the city of Seattle has to offer. For more ideas, contact South Sound Weddings and speak to one of our knowledgeable officiants to find a location that is just right for you!
